Mossley’s academy team earned their first home win on Wednesday as they demolished Leek Town 8-2.

The game as a contest was over in the first half hour as the rampant Lilywhites youngsters ripped the visitors defence to shreds in a mostly one sided opening half.

Leek keeper Owen Watt had already twice denied the Mossley forwards before Antonio Din Chin danced his way through the visitors defence to put Mossley ahead on seven minutes.

Din Chin was on target again five minutes later to double Mossley’s lead, A third goal seemed inevitable after more Mossley pressure and it duly came on 27 minutes when Prince Owusu scored his first of the afternoon.

Mossley had to wait only another two minutes before Din Chin impressively completed his hat-trick when scoring Mossley’s fourth of the day.

At the other end Leek had troubled Mossley rarely with what seemed a somewhat one dimensional ball up the middle approach. However, keeper Woski-Cawthorne did well to keep out Matthew Cope’s effort.

Leek improved after the break and passed the ball better meaning Mossley had to wait until the 69th minute to add to their lead before the lively Owusu netted his second.

Leek scored a consolation goal on 78 minutes when Woski-Cawthorne’s mis-kicked clearance left Joshua Snape with a simple tap in.

The goal only served to motivate Mossley though as two minutes later Declan Lewis scored Mossley’s sixth.

Owusu then scored his side’s seventh on 82 minutes to complete his own hat-trick before a wind assisted long high ball caught out the Mossley keeper and Snape was on hand for another easy tap in.

Mossley still weren’t finished though as Owusu bagged his fourth and Mossley eighth of a lucrative afternoon’s work for the hard working Lilywhites Academy.
